The Jeep Posse helps search and rescue personnel reach remote areas where ordinary vehicles cannot travel safely. Members support route coverage, transportation, communications, evacuations, and the movement of personnel and equipment during searches and other authorized operations.
Team members train in off-road driving, vehicle readiness, safe recovery practices, navigation, communications, and coordinated field operations. Assignments are performed under the direction of Shasta County Search and Rescue leadership and the incident command system.
